the maverick of situation comedy, charlie sheen. cbs has announced that they're going to shut down any more production on "two and a half men" this season. it seems like even the massive profits he makes for cbs on that series, which is the most successful sitcom on television, is something that is not worth pursuing in charlie's current condition. what do you make of the future of charlie and "two and a half men"? >> well, look, i cover politics, lawrence. let's look at it politically. number one, les moonves, who's the head of cbs, is an extremely shrewd and responsible guy who i am sure was just aghast at everything about charlie sheen's life. cbs, like all the networks, you know, are public institutions, and they have to take public sentiment into account at some point. and obviously cbs did. and also as they said in that statement it wasn't just his conduct but his comments. he's basically been rubbing everybody's nose in it for the last few weeks saying i had two minutes of rehab and he
, thank you. >>> actor charlie sheen is at it again just ahead of a new network interview the troubled star is taking a public drug test this weekend. let's get the details now from amy palmer, who is senior editor with "in touch weekly." all right, amy so, break it down. let's start with this drug test. public drug test. what's all that about? >> radaronline challenged charlie sheen to take a drug test because charlie's been saying i'm sober, i beat this on my own, i didn't have to go to aa. so he took this test publicly, which is why he's saying it's public. he took three -- they took three vials of blood for a toxology test and the results will be in this week. i do want to mention that he took an over-the-counter drug test and passed that. however, sources can't verify if this actually wasn't tampered with. so we will wait. but he's just sailinying, you k i'm fine, i'm not doing drugs, so i can take any tests you put my way. >> so the network teeb interview you mentioned, he's doing a sit-down? >> he is. this week. >> what's more to reveal? >> i think he wants to tell his side of t
